Tutoring for students Kindergarten to 12th Grade
We believe students are not cookies, yet individuals. Thus we do not use cookie cutter curriculum here. Each child is given education that is relevant to their personality style, learning style, and unique gifts. Each child is interviewed with their parents and has a trial visit. We assume nothing. Everyone starts at the beginning as we determine where they need to fill in foundational skills. Each student starts with the Plonski method. Skills are then assessed and the student is asked to set academic goals.
We believe that good enough never is, thus 80% is not a passing grade here. Students work to achieve 100%. Review is given daily until 100% is achieved. Review is given every 9 weeks after 100% is achieved to insure complete understanding. Exceptional students may be moved into the Gateway Preparatory School curriculum after an initial interview and goal setting session with their parents. Gateway offers speed reading, and advanced curriculum.
We believe in training the subconscious mind to ask the student the right questions. We believe in affirmations and understanding of internal dialog that supports educational goals. We believe that life gives us a series of choices of which we are 100% responsible for the results created from our choices. Therefore we teach decision making skills based on results oriented thinking methods.
